In his own words: a summary of Danny's first words
This list is getting harder to keep up with these days. Danny seems to discover how to say at least one new word every week! (Sept 2009)
"buh" - Book, (18 mo) usually accompanied by the sign he made up for it. - hands clapped together and then flipped over and back.
"Melmo" - Elmo (18 mo)
"ba-ba" - Bye bye (16 mo) he sometimes says this, but not always. He's not very good at saying goodbye or waving goodbye. Odds of getting a wave if we tell him to wave are ~50%. Odds of getting a "bye-bye" also slim...
"Nai-nai" - night night (16 mo)
"Bub-boo!" - Bubbles! (16 mo)
"kak-kak" - what Ducky says (15.5 mo)
"Duh-" as in "done" - when he's done nursing sometimes he'll push away and say "duh" (~11 mo)
"gee-gee" - for "Kitty" - Toad came up to be petted and Danny happily said "gee-gee" several times!
"Moo" - for cow milk!
"Da" as in "Daddy" - yup, he knows who "Da" is too. he's even managed "Hi Da!" So "Da" is his second real word. At least he knows who the important people are! :-) (~10 mo old)
"Muh-muh" as in "Mama" and yes, this one he meant! He definitely knows who "Muh-muh" is and calls me by name! His first real word. (Yay!) (~9-10 mo old?)
"Ki!" as in "Kitty" Not clear if he knows the word "kitty" yet, but one evening he exclaimed "Ki!" and lunged for one of the cats. (Toad froze and looked to me for help - sometimes he just doesn't know what to do with the small, human-shaped terror that has inveded his home...) (~10 mo old)
Not a word, but for a long time Danny would just sit and go "d-d-d-d-dd-d" - kinda rolling his d's - it was so cute! But he seems to have stopped doing that anymore. (~6mo old?)
"hi" - as in, "hello" - Not sure if he was saying "hi!" or just making an excited sound that came out like a greeting... (6 mo old?)
"aboo" as in "peekaboo" - just imitating sounds, but he loves playing peekaboo. It was his first game and is still his favorite. (~3 mo old?)
Foods Danny has tried so far...
Danny now eats anything that gets close enough to get in his mouth, cookies, kleenex, cats... so this list is no longer updated...

How about Fancy Footwork? I'm guessing he was using his foot to either reach the table or push away.
