Can you beleive it?

It's the end of September already and I'm 8 months old!

Now Mommy says I have to decide what I want to be for Halloween. I
spent all this time trying to learn how to be me, and now I have to be
someone else for this Halloween thing? I don't get it.

Daily Danny 9/23

Danny's solution to the fuel crisis: eat all the cars!

And Danny will be chewing more efficiently soon- he cut his first
tooth this past Saturday.

Many thanks to Sarah for recommending the frozen mini-bagels. They
seem to stay colder longer than most of his water-filled teether toys
and Danny seems to like them.

Kickin' it old school

Today Danny is modeling a green one-piece outfit with little yellow
kitty that once belonged to Daddy and a sweater made by Great-Grandma
Velma that I am told was most recently worn by Danny's Aunt Eleanor.

Great-Grandma Velma never got to meet any of her five grandchildren,
but I think she'd be pleased that Danny gets to wear something she made.

PS: if that sweater pattern looks familiar, there's a good reason -
Grandma Sandy followed the same pattern when she made Danny's red
sweater! :-)

Sweater

The last post has a great smile, but I wanted to share this picture
too because it shows off his sweater better. This is a very special
sweater, it was made by Danny's Great-Grandma Iris about three years
before he was born. Great-Grandma Iris never got to meet Danny, but
she would have adored him! I'm so glad she made this sweater for Danny.

A little off-center, but a great smile!

From yesterday

Can I come out and watch football with Daddy?

It's a little hard to see in the picture, but Danny's wearing a Notre
Dame outfit that used to be his Daddy's. Now, I know Danny is a big
boy, but I have to assume that the outfit has shrunk some since it was
first bought- either that or 18 month old kids were much smaller back
in the day!

Don't wanna let go...

From yesterday:
Mommy's right over there. I wanna go to her, but if I let go, I might
fall over. I don't know what to do!

Fwd: My coffee is broken.

Picture taken by Daddy this morning, as Mommy is taking the day off and staying home to try to get some much needed errands done around the house... (take cats to vet, get eyes checked at eye doctor - my eyes, not the cats..., go shopping to replace work shoes that make my feet hurt, etc...)

This is an adorable picture (if I do say so myself...) The only thing I don't understand is how Danny managed to sleep through the entire night (he even fell asleep earlier than his usual bedtime! and slept right through his usual midnight snack.) and still be so groggy in the morning. Poor little guy - maybe some playtime will get him awake and moving!

Lemme out!

From Wenesday morning:
Of course I missed the best shot, but twice Wednesday morning, Danny
demonstrated that he can now pull himself all the way to a full
standing position in his crib. The first time I found him standing up
in his crib, I could tell that he had been chewing on the straps of
the laundry bag that I had just hung on the side of the crib...

His only problem now is that he hasn't figured out how to get back
down again once he's standing. So by the time I found him standing
there, he was done being distracted by the laundry bag straps (they
were all soggy...) and was holding onto the railing for dear life
calling for Mommy to come to the rescue!

I came to his rescue, but I still had to get ready for work too - so
back in the crib he went. By the time I came back, dressed and ready
to go, (with camera phone in hand) he had gotten back to his knees and
seemed like he was trying to get to his feet again. I tried to
encourage him to pull the rest of the way up so I could get a picture
for his grandparents, but he insisted that I put the camera away and
rescue him again instead.

Since then, his teachers report that he's been doing the same thing at
school - pulling himself up on his crib after a nap or wandering
around the classroom and pulling up on the furniture in the classroom.
But then he doesn't know how to get back down once he's pulled
himself up!

Look, Grandma, the sweater you made me still fits!

Normally Mommy doesn't like it when the weather starts to turn cool,
but in this case she's glad that I'll get a little more wear out of my
sweater.

Hi there little guy

What's up with you?
Danny tries to figure out why a classmate is crying.

Now, before anyone writes to say how it would have been cuter if I got
the other baby's face in the shot - yes, it would have been, but I try
hard not to take pictures of Danny's classmates. It's not because I'm
biased about my baby being the cutest (which I am because he is...)
rather it's because I'm posting these shots on the internet. I do not
have permission from the other babies parents, so I don't feel it's
right to post pictures that include them. If it were other parents
taking pictures of Danny, I'd expect them to ask my permission before
sending his face to the interwebs... That being said, I'd probably
grant that permission- but the important thing is to be asked...
