Foods

Now that Danny's getting into more foods, I think I'm going to
discontinue the "foods Danny has tried" sidebar on the blog page.
Besides the fact that it's woefully out of date, it also doesn't show
up if you're using a program to gather blog posts, like Google
Reader... So I'm not sure how many of you are even aware that the list
is there anyway.

Last week, we signed Danny up for getting snacks at school. (we'll
probably sign him up for regular meals before too long...) So now,
twice a day (unless he's napping) he gets a snack with the other big
kids in the class. He's gotten club crackers, animal crackers, teddy
grahms, cinnamon biscuits and more. (all broken into tiny pieces so
that he can handle them - he's still working on the concept of chewing
food, after all...) According to his teachers, he does really well
with his snacks. He even has his milk in a sippy cup with his snack
sometimes!

At home, we've been working on finger foods too. Pictured here, Danny
is snacking on a mix of banana and apple-cinnamon rice puffs. And, if
you saw Saturday's post, you also know that he has enjoyed toast-
zwieback toast, that is.

It's fun watching Danny carefully pick up a tiny piece of food and
stuff it in his mouth. Sometimes he makes it. Sometimes he'll bring
the food to his mouth and start chewing with a slightly concerned
"something's not quite right" look on his face. That's when I realize
that he's got that morsel of food stuck to his face or the back of his
hand... We really should get the video camera out for snacktime...
